Shipping Deadlines Approaching for Holiday Packages

Several Northern Virginia post offices extend hours Saturday, Dec. 20.

To ensure that holiday mail and packages are delivered in time for Christmas, the Postal Service recommends the following mailing and shipping deadlines:

Saturday, Dec. 20-First Class Mail
Saturday, Dec. 20-Priority Mail
Tuesday, Dec. 23-Priority Mail Express

The following Post Offices will have extended retail hours on Saturday, Dec. 20 to meet customer mailing needs:

Post Office is open every Sunday from 9 am-5 pm

Please note; customers that use Click-N-Ship, PC Postage or have other prepaid postage applied to their mail or package may drop those items off at many Northern Virginia Post Offices on Sunday, Dec. 21. A postal employee will be accepting the mail and packages on the back dock. Postmasters at participating Post Offices have sent a letter to their customers.

As always, customers can access postal products and services at self-serve kiosks where they can purchase stamps or mail letters and packages in a self-service environment. To locate a convenient self-serve kiosk visit www.usps.com and select the Find Locations tab.
