Snow Forecasted For Reston On Thanksgiving

We probably won't see much accumulation, but the forecast calls for some flakes on Turkey Day.

RESTON, VA -- Snow on Thanksgiving? That's what the forecast in Reston calls for on Nov. 23, as well as most of the long weekend.

Not that you should expect a blanket of the white stuff -- it'll be too warm for that with temperatures in the high 40s during the day and just above freezing at night. However, Weather.com projects that Reston will get rain and snow showers in the morning that will shift to rain in the afternoon, and then into full-on snow as temperatures drop that night. The forecast calls for snow accumulations of "less than one inch."

Snow showers will continue Friday and Saturday before the sun returns on Sunday.

The Thanksgiving flurries may be the appetizer for what appears likely to be a snowy winter for Virginia.
