Snow In Reston Possible On Thursday, Friday

A new forecast suggests that the snow may quickly return to the area.

The cold snap has already resulted in one snowfall this past weekend, and now we could get more flakes later this week, according to the latest forecast from the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang.

Two storms are headed for our area, and while neither appear to be large, it will be so cold that there's a good chance that snow will fall and stick both Thursday and Friday.

The first small clipper from Canada could bring 1 to 3 inches of snow, although it could just as easily miss us entirely. Temperatures will be well below freezing, so any snow that does fall is likely to accumulate. Currently, there's about a 20 percent chance of an inch of snow on Thursday, CWG reports.

Friday is a bit more uncertain as far as snowfall chances. It will once again involve a clipper that could draw moisture from the Atlantic, which would increase the potential for accumulation.

In any event, it's not a sure thing we'll get snow on either day, but it's something we'll watch in the coming days.
