Sobriety Checkpoints This Weekend in Reston Police District
Police do not disclose the checkpoint location beforehand.

Fairfax County Police will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint Saturday night, Aug. 15, in the Reston Police District. Police do not give the exact location before conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint.
The Fairfax County Police Department aggressively patrols the roadways for drunk and impaired drivers. Sobriety checkpoints are one of the tools that police use to make sure drivers are not consuming alcohol and getting behind the wheel.

Along with publicity and awareness, checkpoints have proven to be effective in the fight against drunk driving, according to police. Each week, hundreds of motorists pass through checkpoints and many are screened for alcohol use.

The Reston district is 56 square miles and includes Reston as well as parts of Great Falls, Vienna, Oak Hill and Herndon. Included in the area are Reston Town Center, Lake Fairfax Park, Great Falls National Park, Frying Pan Park, Riverbend County Park.
