South Lakes Football Team Donates Time to School Supplies Drive
The team helped move supplies for Fairfax County's Collect for Kids initiative in advance of Friday's season opener against Marshall.

This week, the South Lakes Seahawks football team took a break from preparing for their season opener against Marshall High School to help move school supplies for KidsRFirst, one of a handful of not-for-profit organizations partnering with Fairfax County’s Collect for Kids initiative.
Jay Garant, administrator of business and community partnerships with Fairfax County Public Schools, shared the photo above on LinkedIn Friday morning, showing the team in action.
With help from KidsRFirst, FCPS’s school supplies drives will help provide 3,000 more students the supplies they need for the coming school year. The program already serves more than 30,000 students, an 84 percent increase from just four years ago.
