South Lakes High School Students Walk Out

Reston students participated in the National Walkout Day one month after 17 students were murdered in Parkland, Fla.

RESTON, VA -- Students at South Lakes High School demonstrated Wednesday morning as part of a nationwide school walkout in remembrance of the 17 students who were gunned down in Florida exactly one month ago.

(Good Morning America's Twitter account shared video of what they said was from South Lakes High School's walkout, which was embedded in an earlier version of this story, but it appears to actually show a walkout at a school in Maryland and so it has been removed from this article.)

SLHS was subject to its own school shooting scare on Friday, resulting in a lockdown that lasted for hours. Police later determined it was a false report.
