South Lakes High Track Star Signs with Air Force Academy

RESTON, VA — South Lakes High School senior Devyn Jones has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the Air Force Academy after she graduates, according to a statement from South Lakes High School.

Jones, who is a member of the SLHS track team, is the defending region champion in the 55-meter hurdles. She finished fourth statewide at last year's indoor track and field 6A championships. She holds school records in girls' hurdle events in the 55 meters (8.40), 100 meters (14.52 meters) and 300 meters (45.86).

"She’s the two-time defending Liberty Conference outdoor track champion in the 100-meter hurdles and a three-time varsity letter winner in both indoor and outdoor track," the statement notes.

Jones won the long jump at the outdoor conference championship last spring, and won the 55-meter hurdles at the Liberty Flames Invitational.
