Reston Stabbing, Shooting In Herndon Area Investigated By Police
Fairfax County police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in Reston and a Herndon-area shooting incident.

RESTON, VA — Officers from the Reston District Station of the Fairfax County Police Department are investigating a recent stabbing and an unrelated shooting incident, according to the weekly crime report.
Around 2:23 a.m., on July 15, two men confronted the victim in the 1800 block of Sycamore Valley Drive in Reston, according to police. One of the men then stabbed the victim in the upper body. The victim was later treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police do not believe this was a random act.
In the second incident, the sound of a gunshot awoke the victim around 4:41 a.m., on Wednesday, in the 2500 block of Peter Jefferson Lane in the Herndon area of the county. When the victim went to investigate, he found damage to his home, according to police.

Police searched the scene and found spent cartridge cases. They do not believe the shooting was a random act.
