Teenage Couple Sneak Into Reston School, Trigger Alarm: Police

Police are considering filing charges against the two 16-year-olds, who were released to their parents.

RESTON, VA — Police are mulling whether to file charges against two 16-year-olds who they say were caught sneaking into an elementary school in Reston Sunday evening.

Security working at Fox Mill Elementary School in the 2600 block of Viking Drive noticed that an alarm had been tripped sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Sunday and found two teenagers, a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, inside the school, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

The security officer took the teenagers into custody until police arrived. They were released to their parents.

"The investigation continues to determine whether charges are appropriate," the report states.
