Teenage Girl Arrested in Reston Stabbing

Incident took place after midnight, Sunday morning.

Police have arrested teenager Yanira Arias-Melendez, of no fixed address, in a stabbing that took place Sunday in Reston, according to Fairfax County Police.

The incident took place around 12:23 a.m. Sunday, when police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1600 block of Washington Plaza in the Reston area.

Police found a 48-year-old man suffering from trauma to the lower body and he was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigative leads led police to arrest Arias-Melendez, 18. Police did not say what prompted the attack or what charges have been filed.
