Tenants Furious At Reston Town Center Apartment Building: Report

Some residents of The Cosmopolitan reportedly are unhappy with what they've been sold.

RESTON, VA — The Cosmopolitan is a gleaming apartment building in the heart of Reston Town Center that would seem like the perfect place to live. But a new report claims that residents at the 21-story building aren't happy with their experience so far.

The Fairfax County Times reports the property management company behind The Cosmopolitan is slow to respond to tenant complaints and is ignoring safety concerns.

Tenants interviewed for the story say they were impressed after touring the facility with its many modern amenities, but within just a few months of living there, the property didn't live up to expectations.

In one alarming report, a resident says she was unable to get the door to the emergency stairs open after a fire broke out in the building because of suction caused by fans that were meant to prevent smoke accumulation. Others have complained that the property manager has their own residents aggressively towed.

Residents are blaming Fairfax-based property management company Gates Hudson, who took over the property in 2015.
