The Importance of Good Posture

Most people believe that good posture is only important to how you look. But did you know posture actually has a significant affect on your circulation, digestion and breathing?

Postural changes can have a dramatic effect on your health and happiness. Just look at someone who slumps in their chair or carries a stooped standing position. Just imagine what is happening to the size of their lungs and their ability to breathe.

What about the person that habitually crosses their legs when sitting? Look at them and see how difficult it is to return blood to the heart from their legs. Their heart will work much harder and can lead to congestive heart failure and other heart related problems.

How about digestion? The digestive organs need room to work and can do their job effectively when placed in a smaller than normal space.

I say let's all improve our posture and try to make ourselves a little healthier. Step 1 is to make yourself aware of your sitting and standing posture. Step 2 is to take 10 minutes a day and practice the Sara Meeks Meeks Method exercise series. They are powerful and really work.
