Tip Leads To Arrest Of Herndon Man For Late-Night Larcenies

RESTON, VA — Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department are crediting a tip from the public for helping them identify a suspect wanted in connection with a series of recent break-ins and package thefts.

During the late-night hours of Oct. 3-4, someone broke into and stole from vehicles parked in the Fair Oaks and Reston police districts. Police believed the suspect had stolen packages from the doorsteps of homes in those areas as well.

Last Tuesday, police released surveillance photos and a description of the suspect. They also notified the public that the suspect was using an orange bicycle to ride from crime scene to crime scene.

Based on a tip to the Reston District Crime Prevention officer, detectives were able to identify 20-year-0ld Ajohnny Jordan of Herndon as a suspect in the case, according to police.

Police arrested Jordan on Friday, on two charges each of petit larceny and possession of burglarious tools. He remains in the Fairfax Adult Detention Center without bond.
