Possible Tornado In Great Falls, Reston Area

RESTON, VA -- A tornado may have touched down in the Reston area after a storm passed through Friday afternoon.

A tornado warning was issued shortly before 3 p.m. in an area that included Reston and Great Falls, as well as the Potomac area in Montgomery County, Md.

Meteorologist Greg Porter tweeted at 2:46 p.m. that there was "low level rotation" indicating a possible tornado just northwest of Great Falls.

There is not yet any proof that a tornado was in the area or any indication of damage. The tornado warning expired at 3:15 p.m.
