Trees Removed to Create Safe Path to Reston School

Reston Association's Design Review Board has approved the work, which began last fall and will continue through sometime next year.

In order to meet Fairfax County Planning Commission requirements and VDOT line-of-sight easements, trees are being removed along Cross School Road near the parking lots, entrance and front field at Sunrise Valley Elementary School, according to Reston Association.

Reston Association’s Design Review Board has approved the work, which began last fall and will continue through sometime next year.

The Planning Commission and Fairfax County are requiring the installation of an asphalt path that will provide safe passage for students and other pedestrians near the school. There is also a required landscape and re-planting plan that will be done towards the end of the project.
