Ugly Start to Metro Surge 11 in Reston, Arlington
Riders are reporting on social media that the Orange and Silver lines are struggling on Day 2 of the "Surge."

Metro Surge No. 11 is not off to a great start in Arlington and Reston, as commuters are reporting everything from delayed trains to huge crowding on platforms on the Orange and Silver Lines on the second day of the "Surge."
Metro riders will have to endure Surge 11, which involves continuous single-tracking between the West and East Falls Church Metro stations, from Nov. 28 until Dec. 21. And if social media is any indication, the problems are just as bad as everyone who relies on those lines feared.
One user reported huge crowds on the Ballston station platform despite a train still begin five minutes away. Another reported a bottleneck at the Rosslyn station, and still another said an Orange Line train suddenly offloaded and loaded again at West Falls Church. At Wiehle-Reston-East on the Silver Line, one rider reported waiting 30 minutes for a train, with no sign of one actually coming.

@Metrorailinfo why no shuttles at West Falls Church during this SafeTrack? Not good! More crowded trains!

And somehow there's a bottleneck at Rosslyn heading eastbound, despite 70% reduction in OL & SV service. Trains stop & go. #wmata
