RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police officers from the Reston District Police Station responded to two major incidents recently, one involving a missile being fired into an occupied dwelling and the other concerning the unlawful discharge of a gun in the Reston area, according to the weekly crime report.

Around 6:55 p.m., on Aug. 22, a homeowner in the 2200 block of Saunders Drive, in the Herndon area of the county, heard a long bang. He found the glass of his front door shattered. Upon closer inspection, metal fragments were found lodged between two panes of glass.

Around 10:36 p.m., officers from the Reston District Station responded to the 12000 block of Laurel Glade Court for the report of possible gunshots. They determined two men were in the area and one of them fired a gun several times. No injuries or damage were reported.
