US Geological Survey to Reston Pokemon Go Players: We Have Tons of Pokestops

The USGS is urging people to come play Pokemon Go while checking out their rock formations.

Love to catch Pokemon? Well then why not come to the U.S. Geological Survey's National Center in Reston?

That's right, the USGS is openly inviting players to its campus at 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive, helpfully pointing out that they have two gyms and eight "pokestops" in its Rock Garden Walking Tour, where the agency highlights some of the unique rock types in the D.C. region, according to a recent post on their website.

The site even painstakingly describes each of their gyms and pokestops, which are set at some of their special rock displays, including its Volcanic Crystal display and its Cordierite Hornfels display.

"Have fun out there hunting Pokémon and remember to stay safe!" the site adds. "And if you come to the USGS hunting rock-type Pokémon, please remember that this is Federal property, so don't be surprised if security personnel ask what you're doing."

In addition, the grounds are only open between the hours of 8 a.m until 8 p.m., so no hunting at nighttime.

"Hopefully as you explore the world around you, you'll keep your head up and learn to appreciate the natural world and evolve into a legendary science-type!" the USGS added.
