Veterans Day In Reston 2017: What's Open, What's Closed

Veterans Day falls on a Saturday this year, so what does that mean for residents of Fairfax County?

RESTON, VA -- Veterans Day is right around the corner, and that means confusion over what's actually open and what will be closed. This year, Nov. 11 falls on a Saturday, so it's even more confusing.

Here's a quick guide on what you can expect in Fairfax County:

Government offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10 for Veterans Day, although some facilities will be open and schedules vary, so you might want to call ahead if you have an errand to run on Friday.

Schools will not be closed, however, so make sure the little ones are ready for the bus Friday morning.

Libraries will be closed on Friday.

The Fairfax Connector will run on holiday weekend hours on Nov. 10. All Fastran programs, activities, facilities, and transportation services will be closed, however.
