Virginia Polar Dip Returning To Lake Anne Plaza For Grand Finale
The 15th Freezing' For a Reason Virginia Polar Dip is returning to Lake Anne Plaza in Reston for the final time on Saturday, Feb. 11.

RESTON, VA — Have no fear. There's still time to assemble a crazy outfit and prepare yourself — both mentally and physically — for the chilly waters of Lake Anne.
The 15th Freezing' For a Reason Virginia Polar Dip is returning to Lake Anne Plaza in Reston for the final time on Saturday, Feb. 11. The annual event raises money for Camp Sunshine, a year-round retreat for children with serious illnesses and their families.
The Virginia Polar Dip will begin at 12 p.m., with a variety of family friendly activities and music provided by Quickspin's Quick Planning.

Starting at 2 p.m., registered participants will take turns jumping into Lake Anne for the "Polar Dip" or do a "Chicken Dip" by just sticking their toes in the water. Participants can either raise or donate a minimum of $100 in order to take part in the plunge. Businesses, teams or individuals wishing to make a donation can register online at the Virginia Polar Dip website.
“The Virginia Polar Dip has a unique aspect that adds to the fun,” said Gail Toth, event founder andorganizer, in a release. “We have a one-hour succession of splashes that brings plenty of cheers and laughter from the crowd of spectators.”

Since its inception in 2008, the Virginia Polar Dip has raised nearly $905,000 for Camp Sunshine. This will be the Virginia Polar Dip's final year, according to its organizers, who've set a goal of raising $100,000. With that amount, the event will have raised $1 million for the camp.
