RESTON, VA — Reston Association is hosting a virtual meeting to address community concerns and answer questions about the algae bloom that has emerged on Lake Thoreau in recent days.

The environmental health virtual meeting will take place via Zoom on Monday, Aug. 31, at 6:30 p.m., according to a letter from RA CEO Hank Lynch and President Julie Bitzer. RA also plans to release a video on its YouTube channel later this week with more information about the bloom on the lake.

During the virtual meeting, Lynch and COO Larry Butler will go over past lake management practices and recent test results. They'll also provide long-term management options along with preliminary cost estimates.
