Volunteer Opportunity: Serve On The Reston Planning & Zoning Committee

RESTON, VA — Do you live in Reston, want to volunteer, and have an interest in helping to ensure that Reston's development as a planned residential community continues to follow the founding principles? Then perhaps becoming a member of the Reston Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Committee is what you've been looking for.

The committee is looking for volunteers to serve as either members or associate members, who serve three-year and one-year terms, respectively. New volunteers are needed every January to fill vacant positions on the committee.

The Reston Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Committee is seeking volunteers to serve on the Committee. All residents of Reston, Virginia over eighteen years of age are eligible to serve on the Committee. The Committee consists of fifteen (15) members with five (5) positions expiring each year, and three (3) associate members that serve one year terms. Members’ terms run for three years beginning in January of each year. Associate members terms run for one year, also beginning in January. Meetings are typically held virtually on the third Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
