Walmart Is Growing Massive Tech Operation In Reston: Report
Walmart Labs, the technology arm of the giant retailer, reportedly is doubling its Reston workforce.
RESTON, VA -- The largest employer in the world, Walmart, is massively expanding its tech operation in Reston, according to a report.
The Washington Business Journal reports that Walmart Labs has an office in Reston with 180 employees, and the company plans to double its workforce there soon.
Specifically, the retailer is looking for software engineers and data scientists as the company moves toward automation and an online presence for grocery shopping.

The Reston location is focused on technology that supports store associates, including a robot named "Bossa Nova" that can scan shelves and alert associates for restocking, and automated freight unloading systems that can receive and scan shipments, according to the report.
