Wegmans Is Coming To Reston: Report

RESTON, VA -- Reston residents will eventually have their very own Wegmans, as a new deal has been inked that would involve the upscale grocery chain moving into Reston Crescent, according to a report.

The Washington Business Journal reports developer Brookfield Properties has reached a deal with Wegmans for 80,000 square feet. Unfortunately, locals are going to wait a while: the target opening would be late 2022.

The project could break ground as early as next year, and its timeline means the Reston Town Center Metro station will be operational by the time it opens. The store will be located on the lower floors of a building that will include 350 multifamily units, according to the report.

The prospect of Wegmans in Reston had been a possibility for a while, but this deal makes it official.
