When and Where to Watch Fireworks in Reston

Reston's July 4 celebration will take place at Lake Fairfax Park beginning Saturday morning. Fireworks will take place at 9:15 p.m.

The Fourth of July is fast approaching, and Reston’s annual Independence Day fireworks display will make its return to Lake Fairfax Park this Saturday evening.

The park opens at 7 a.m., and the Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole opens at 10 a.m. and will remain open the entire day. Beginning at 11 a.m., patrons can enjoy carousel and boat rides, and there will be a puppet show for the kids in attendance from 3-4 p.m. At 4 p.m., live music takes over the park courtesy of Hard to Tell Band.

The fireworks are slated to begin shortly after dark at approximately 9:15 p.m.

There will be food vendors on site throughout the day, and campgrounds will be available for those wishing to stay in the park overnight, although spots are limited and reservations are advised (for reservations call 703-471-5414).

Admission to the park is free, but a $5 donation per car to the Fairfax County Park Foundation is encouraged in order to fund the cost of the fireworks, park staff and site improvements. Any donations made are tax deductible by law.
