Woman Attacks Cops In Reston: Police

Police say the woman was experiencing a "mental health crisis."

RESTON, VA -- Police are weighing whether to charge a woman who they say scratched and attempted to bite two police officers in Reston on Tuesday.

Police responded to the 1900 block of Barton Hill Road at around 7:33 p.m. on Sept. 11 to a report of a domestic assault and "found a woman experiencing an apparent mental health crisis," according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"During their interaction, she scratched and attempted to bite both officers," the report states. "The Commonwealth Attorney’ s Office will be consulted prior to any charges being placed."
