Woman Awakens To Home Intruder Near Reston (ICYMI)

Police say the woman heard someone entering her home late at night.

OAKTON, VA -- A woman had a frightening experience Monday night after awakening to the sound of someone entering her home late at night.

Police were called to the 3400 block of Valewood Drive at around 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 24 to a report of a burglary, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"A homeowner woke to the sound of someone entering her home through an unlocked door," the report states. "She checked the home and noticed money was missing from a purse left in the kitchen."
