1. VCU students react to strangulation on campus (myfox8.com) — A driver was strangled but only lightly injured during a fight with bicyclists near VCU's Cary and Morris streets in Richmond, according to campus police. Students who witnessed or heard about the incident say it's unsettling to experience such violence during their first week on campus, though police report one cyclist is charged and there's no ongoing threat.

Richmond Public Schools says teachers can return Monday to prepare classrooms, with extra time compensated, and a formal air-quality report is expected Monday morning.

3. Dad killed his daughter, 14, and her brother: Police (lawandcrime.com) — Richmond authorities say a man is headed to trial next April, accused of shooting his girlfriend and killing her two children at a home near Burns Street and 5th Avenue. Richmond Police previously sought the community's help to find him after the attack, and the surviving mother's supporters describe the family's loss as an unimaginable tragedy.

4. Kidzafest RVA: South African Youth Choir performs at Richmond festival for kids (wtvr.com) — Families in Richmond just enjoyed KidzFest at Maymont, a free African arts celebration that brought South African youth performers together with local kids. Over two weeks, visiting artists led workshops, classes, and performances focused on African music, dance, storytelling, and visual arts, turning Maymont into a lively hub of cross-cultural learning and community connection.
