VIENNA, VA – Three Vienna restaurants have made Northern Virginia Magazine's most recent list of the best burgers in the region.
Two appear to be unassuming - one even calls itself basic - but don't be fooled. These burgers are more than meets the eye.
Vienna's contributions to the region's best burgers are:
Social Burger's Matthew Burger. According to Northern Virginia Magazine, this deceptively simple burger develops character as guests enhance it to their liking. The Matthew, a cheeseburger, can take on anything from cheddar to bleu cheese to ghost pepper jack, plus a chimichurri sauce, a red Thai curry sauce, and more. Find them at 350 Maple Avenue West.
Basic Burger's Mushroom Swiss. Once again, the magazine says, this local chain is anything but ordinary, and its finest offering is this monster patty "blanketed in Swiss and flavored with a smear of A1 aioli." See for yourself at 1495 Cornerside Boulevard, Suite 118.
Big Bun's Hot&Hefe, a beef patty creation that brings the heat with pepper jack cheese, grilled habanero peppers and sriracha, then offers some relief with cool, fatty avocado. Find them at 142 Branch Road SE.
