VIENNA, VA — Caboose Brewing Company, which operates locations in Vienna and Fairfax County's Merrifield area, won three medals at the 2026 Virginia Craft Beer Cup.
The Northern Virginia brewery received a gold medal for its Yo Vietnamese Rice Lager, a silver medal for its Ctrl Alt Delete Altbier and a bronze medal for its It's Wit Wheat Beer.
The awards continued a run of state, national and international recognition for Caboose across multiple beer styles. The company's award history shows 16 medals and one honorable mention since 2022.
In July, Ctrl Alt Delete received a silver medal at the 2026 U.S. Open Beer Championship. The altbier previously won gold at the 2025 Great American Beer Festival.
Boxcar Brown Ale received gold at the 2026 World Beer Cup after earning bronze at the international competition in 2025. It also won gold at the 2024 U.S. Open Beer Championship and 2025 Virginia Craft Beer Cup, as well as silver at the 2025 Great American Beer Festival.

"I love it when the broader beer community celebrates the hard work, creativity and passion that our brewers have poured into their craft," Caboose Brewing Company owner Jennifer McLaughlin said. "I get to tell them all the time how much I love their beer, but there is nothing like a prestigious medal to send that message home."
Caboose's other recent honors include a gold medal for Vienna VA Lager at the 2025 U.S. Open Beer Championship.
At the 2022 Virginia Craft Beer Cup, the brewery won gold medals for Vienna VA Lager, Bienvenidos Mexican Lager and Das Gut German Pilsner. Boxcar Brown Ale received an honorable mention that year.
Vienna VA Lager and Boose Light each received silver medals at the 2023 Virginia Craft Beer Cup.
The latest Virginia Craft Beer Cup results marked Caboose's first listed awards for Yo Vietnamese Rice Lager and It's Wit Wheat Beer.
