VIENNA, VA — The Vienna Town Council will consider a townwide traffic safety study, proposed parking changes at a Maple Avenue shopping center and participation in a national opioid settlement when it meets on Monday.
Council members are scheduled to consider a contract for engineering services to develop a Safe Streets and Roads for All Safety Action Plan and Neighborhood Safety Study. The project would examine transportation safety issues and help identify potential improvements for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists throughout Vienna.
Another item on the agenda concerns Vienna's participation in a proposed national settlement of opioid-related claims against Albertsons Companies. Council members will consider a resolution authorizing the town to participate in the agreement.
Residents will also have an opportunity to comment on Vienna's proposed 2027 legislative agenda, which outlines the town's priorities for the Virginia General Assembly session beginning in January.
The council will hold a public hearing on those priorities before considering the town's legislative positions.
Monday's meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at Charles Robinson Jr. Town Hall, 127 Center St. S.
Residents can attend in person or watch the meeting through the town's website. Meetings are also broadcast on the town's cable access channel.
The full agenda and supporting documents are available on the Town of Vienna's meeting website.
