• West Point Crab Carnival returns Friday, Saturday (gazettejournal.net) — West Point's 44th annual Crab Carnival takes over the downtown waterfront this Friday evening and all day Saturday, bringing live music, fireworks, a parade, and plenty of crabs. With more than 15,000 visitors expected, locals can enjoy rides, vendors, and the Tour de Crab bike race without leaving town.
• West Point considers seeking tractor-trailer restrictions on side roads (dailypress.com) — West Point officials are weighing whether to seek tractor-trailer restrictions on downtown residential side streets after a local resident's car was hit turning off Route 30 at 21st Street. For now, the town manager recommends monitoring conditions while determining which streets, if any, show enough safety problems to justify a formal request to VDOT.
