• Burke Motorcyclist Dies After Braddock Road Crash Near Kings Park (patch.com) — A Burke motorcyclist died after a collision with a car Friday night at Braddock Road and Southampton Drive, a busy intersection serving the Kings Park and West Springfield area. Fairfax County police closed eastbound Braddock for crash reconstruction and are still investigating whether speed or alcohol were factors. Residents who saw anything are urged to contact the Crash Reconstruction Unit or submit anonymous tips.
   

• NEW: Fairfax County proposes high school crossing guard funding, safety improvements (ffxnow.com) — West Springfield families could soon see a restored crossing guard and new safety measures, including a possible HAWK signal and turn restrictions near West Springfield High School. Fairfax County officials will vote on funding to bring back 11 high school crossing guards and are weighing broader fixes like better lighting, crosswalk upgrades, and speed feedback signs after several recent student-involved crashes.
