Today's riddle: Why did the man leave his watch in the bank? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Federal grant will replace Jamestown-Scotland Ferry vessel with low-emission boat (wydaily.com) — A $68 million federal grant will replace the aging Surry with a new low-emission vessel on the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry route that links James City and Surry counties. The upgrade will modernize a four-boat fleet that includes the Williamsburg and carries about 800,000 vehicles a year, keeping this free James River crossing reliable for commuters and visitors.
• Could The Marquis area get another chance at development? (pilotonline.com) — York County supervisors are weighing a rezoning for Marquis Crossing, a mixed-use project near The Marquis that sits on land tied to the Civil War Battle of Williamsburg. The proposal includes 125 townhomes and new commercial space, but faces concerns over school impacts, loss of greenspace, and whether promised businesses will actually materialize before homes are built.
