• Emergency department staffing changes begin Thursday at VH hospitals (nvdaily.com) — Emergency room care at Winchester Medical Center is about to look very different as Valley Health replaces its longtime local emergency physician group with Atlanta-based SCP Health starting Thursday. Local doctors warn of a learning curve and staffing changes, while Valley Health insists patient safety and wait times will improve. Residents are urged not to avoid the ER solely because of the transition.
   

• FCC Pauses Auto-Approval of Verizon Copper Landline Cutoff (thewinchestergazette.com) — Winchester-area residents who still rely on traditional Verizon landlines may get more time before any shutoff, as the FCC has paused automatic approval of Verizon's plan to end copper-based service. The move follows concerns from Rep. Ben Cline and local officials about rural dead zones and emergency access until reliable replacement options reach every household.
