DUMFRIES, VA—A 12-year-old student left a note in a Potomac Middle School classroom Wednesday threatening to bomb the school but it was deemed "not credible," according to Prince William County Police. The boy was charged with knowingly communicating a false threat to bomb, and was released to the custody of a family member.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., a School Resource Officer in the school at 3130 Panther Drive was notified by a school staff member about the note. It was found written on a piece of paper in one of the classrooms. Students, faculty and staff were immediately evacuated from the school as a precaution.
