2 Teenagers Shot In Dumfries On Monday Night: Police
The Prince William County Police Department said an 18-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy were struck by gunfire in Dumfries on Monday.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Two people, an 18-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy, were shot in Dumfries on Monday night, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The two victims' injuries were not considered life threatening, authorities said in a report.
Authorities said the shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, July 12. At that time, officers received a report of a shooting in the 17300 block of Sligo Loop in Dumfries.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the 18-year-old man and the 13-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a report released by the police department on Tuesday.

Rescue personnel then arrived on the scene and took the 18-year-old victim to a nearby hospital, police said. His injuries were not considered life-threatening. The 13-year-old victim refused medical treatment at the scene, police said.

Through an investigation, police determined that the two victims were in the 17300 block of Silgo Loop when gunshots were heard. Authorities said the victims then fled the area on foot before police were contacted.
During the investigation, police used a K-9 unit to search the immediate area for suspects. The dog was unable to find a suspect, police said in their report.
While canvassing the area, police found a car that appeared to have been struck by gunfire. Authorities said the vehicle was unoccupied, and no other property damage was reported.
Investigators were not able to provide any suspect description.
This was the second shooting involving teenagers in Prince William County on Monday. The first, in Dale City, led to the death of a 17-year-old boy.
