2013 Tourism Numbers Released
Prince William, VA- Tourism continues to play essential role in our local, regional and state economy with the United States Travel Association (USTA) releasing their 2013 economic impact data for Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park.
According to USTA, tourism in Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas Park generated $570 million in travel spending. Tourism supported 6,466 jobs in Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas Park and provided $22 million in state taxes and $9 million in local taxes.

“Tourism plays a vital role in our economy. We will continue to showcase the area through our partnership with Virginia Tourism Corporation and support from our elected officials and local tourism businesses.” Discover Prince William & Manassas president/CEO Ann Marie Maher said.
The top tourist attractions in Prince William and Manassas continue to be the Manassas National Battlefield Park, Leesylvania State Park, the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Jiffy Lube Live, Potomac Mills and Prince William Forest Park.

Tourism in Virginia generated $21.5 billion in travel spending in 2013. Tourism also supported 213,000 jobs in the Commonwealth and provided $842 million in state taxes and $581 million in local taxes.
“Tourism plays a key role in our economic development and growth in the Commonwealth, providing valuable jobs for citizens and stimulating business of all sizes,” said Governor Terry McAuliffe. “During my administration, I have made tourism a fundamental part of my economic development initiatives.”
All data was received by the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) from USTA and is based on domestic visitor spending (travelers from within the United States) from per person trips taken 50 miles or more away from home.
