Adult, 2 Children Identified As Victims Of House Fire In Prince William County

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a blaze that engulfed a two-story home in Montclair and killed three people.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Three people are dead following an early-morning house fire in Prince William County, according to officials and reports.

At a news conference streamed by Fox 5 DC, Prince William County Battalion Chief Tom Jarman said firefighters received a call around 5:50 a.m. Friday about a blaze in the 15700 block of Piedmont Place in Montclair.

When firefighters arrived, flames were seen coming out of the home's first and second floors. The fire had also spread to the roof, Jarman said.

According to officials, a family of three escaped from the home's basement before firefighters arrived. Jarman said three other occupants were unaccounted for. Another person, who was the husband and father of the victims, was at work during the fire.

Fire and rescue have located the bodies of three residents, who were pronounced dead.

Prince William County Police identified the victims as Sameena Begum, 49, of Woodbridge, a 13-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge and an 8-year-old boy of Woodbridge.

No firefighters were injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire and the cause and manner of deaths are under investigation. Police do not believe the deaths were under suspicious circumstances.
