8 Displaced By House Fire In Dale City Linked To Kitchen Stovetop
Prince William County Fire and Rescue said smoke alarms helped residents safely escape a house fire that started in the kitchen.
DALE CITY, VA — A fire on the kitchen stovetop displaced eight people in Dale City Sunday, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue.
Around 6:31 p.m. Sunday, units responded to the 4200 block of Gustus Drive for a single-family home house fire. Firefighters encountered a kitchen fire and learned all residents were alerted by smoke detectors and safely escaped. There were no reported injuries.
The home had moderate damage from the fire and was deemed unsafe to occupy. Five adults and three children were displaced and are receiving Red Cross assistance. A fire marshal's office determined the fire started by combustibles igniting near a kitchen stovetop.
