Accidental Shooting Wounds Man In Triangle: PWC Police

A man was shot Friday night by an acquaintance who accidentally fired a handgun in Triangle, according to Prince William County Police.

TRIANGLE, VA—A man was shot Friday night by an acquaintance who accidentally fired a handgun in the 18400 block of Woodland Drive, according to Prince William County Police. After police received conflicting versions of what happened, Casey Jordan Boswell, 21, of the 14800 block of Woodland Drive in Triangle, ultimately was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless handling of a firearm and obstruction of justice. He was being held without bond.

Around 7:45 p.m., police went to a home in the aforementioned area for a reported shooting. They initially were told a man had been shot by an unknown suspect while standing outside the residence. The victim, 22, was found with a gunshot wound to his arm and leg.

After further investigation, police determined that Boswell knew the victim. They said he was handling a gun inside the home when it went off, hitting the other man. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries not considered life threatening.
