WOODBRIDGE, VA – Prince William County authorities are considering 3 new proposals that could bring as many as 12 data centers to the eastern part of the county, according to a new report.
The Prince William Times reports that proposals for data center complexes called Quantico Ridge, Six Towers and Southpark could result in as many as 12 data centers along VA State Route 234, including centers near a national forest preserve, a high school and a senior community.
Quantico Ridge would place 4 data centers at the edge of Prince William Park, an area currently zoned for mixed office and residential use. Six Towers Industrial Park would site 2 data centers between Charles Colgan High School and a business park. Southgate would take over vacant land between the Four Seasons retirement community and Interstate 95.
The proposals are all in varying stages of planning, and none have been scheduled for public hearings yet. One was initially scheduled for a vote on amending the use plans for its proposed site, but developers pulled it from the planned meeting agenda.
