WOODBRIDGE, VA – Prince William County police officers got a twofer during a suspected drunken driving arrest on Wednesday, when the police cruiser they took to help with 1 arrest was actually smashed into by a second driver, who was then also charged with driving under the influence.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday, 2 officers responded to the area of Prince William Parkway and Golansky Boulevard in Woodbridge to help another officer with a DUI arrest. While they were assisting with that arrest, a red minivan struck the rear of a parked police cruiser, causing it to smash into another cruiser.

The officers weren’t in the cars at the time, and the only person injured was the driver of the red minivan, who was taken to a local hospital.

The minivan driver was arrested and charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license. Prince William County police say one cruiser was destroyed, and $10,000 in damage was done overall.
