WOODBRIDGE, VA – A 16-year-old boy from Triangle, VA, has been identified as the victim of a Sunday night shooting in Woodbridge, Prince William County police say.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers responded to the 16700 block of Blackjack Oak Lane at 10:12 p.m. after reports of a shooting. They found the victim in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
A vehicle seen leaving the area after the shooting was deemed of interest. Police say when they attempted to stop a vehicle matching that description later that night, on Cardinal Drive near Emil Court, the driver refused to stop. The driver continued to Powell’s Creek Boulevard and Blue Pool Lane, where the driver stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver remains at large.
Police say the incident does not appear random.
