WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 25-year-old Woodbridge man was charged with second-degree murder after a family dispute escalated into a fatal stabbing Sunday morning, according to Prince William County Police.
Officers responded shortly after 6 a.m. to a home in the 4600 block of Whitaker Place in Woodbridge for a reported domestic dispute involving a stabbing, police said.
When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old man inside the home suffering from stab wounds to his upper body. Officers immediately rendered aid, and the man was taken to an area hospital, where he died, according to police.
Investigators determined that the victim and a family member had been involved in an altercation that escalated, police said. During the encounter, the family member produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times in the upper body, according to police.
Police identified the accused as Ryheim Darnel Harrington, 25, of Woodbridge. Harrington was arrested at the residence without incident following the investigation.
Harrington was charged with second-degree murder and was being held without bond, police said. His court date was pending.
Police did not identify the victim in the social media post or provide additional information about what led to the altercation.
