LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – A Woodbridge man is in custody after several hours on the run in Loudoun County following what police are calling a domestic violence incident.
In a release, LCSO said deputies responded to the 41000 block of Conejo Way in Aldie at about 11:55 a.m. on Sunday following a 911 hang-up call in which a woman could be heard yelling in the background.
Deputies say the caller had been assaulted by her husband, who had left before they arrived. The woman was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office warned residents to be on the lookout for an "armed and dangerous" man just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday after the incident. They described the suspect as Christian De Jesus Santiago, 30, who was believed to be traveling on foot.
After a heavy police presence in the 41000 block of Conejo Way, units were sent to John Champe High School, according to Loudoun Now, but the suspect fled. Loudoun Now reports that the incident began in a vehicle.
LCSO issued a follow-up report at about 3:45 p.m. on Sunday that Santiago was no longer believed to be in Loudoun County.
LCSO says deputies found Santiago Sunday evening and arrested him without incident.
LCSO says Santiago is from Manassas; court records indicate he is from Woodbridge.
Santiago is charged with felony abduction by force or intimidation and two misdemeanors: damaging a phone to prevent emergency calls and assault and battery of a family member. His arraignment was set for Monday and his first hearing is scheduled for Dec. 11. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
