Bullets Fired Through Floor, Wall Into Apartments: Police
Bullets entered a living room and a bedroom in separate cases of apartment gunfire in Triangle and Fredericksburg.
TRIANGLE, VA — A resident of an apartment complex in Triangle reported to police Saturday morning that a bullet entered her apartment from above and landed in her living room. In Fredericksburg, in a separate case, a man reported a bullet entered his bedroom Sunday night through an exterior wall.
Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, Prince William County police officers went to the Southampton Apartments in the 4100 block of Southway Lane of Triangle to investigate a shots fired call.
The Prince William County police found that a neighbor, identified Jalene Marte Hill, was preparing his handgun for cleaning when a round discharged through the floor and entered the victim’s residence. Hill took the firearm out of the apartment to avoid any further discharges and placed it inside his vehicle where it was recovered by officers.

No injuries were reported in the neighbor's apartment. Police arrested Hill and charged him with reckless handling of a firearm and shooting in an occupied dwelling.
In Fredericksburg, an apartment resident reported Sunday night hearing a loud bang in one of his bedrooms. He went to see what the noise was and discovered a bullet had entered the apartment through an exterior wall. Nobody inside the apartment or outside was injured.

The Fredericksburg police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
