Arlington Police Arrest Suspect In Woodbridge Exxon Robbery

Arlington County police arrested a man Tuesday wanted in connection with the robbery of an Exxon convenience store in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Arlington County Police Department officers arrested a man Tuesday wanted in connection with the robbery of a convenience store at the Dale City Auto Services Exxon in Woodbridge. Michael Anthony Sheffey, 59, of Woodbridge has been charged with robbery and is currently being held in the Arlington County jail.

Prince William County Police Department officers responded to the Exxon located at 13594 Quate Lane around 11:15 p.m. Sunday to investigate a burglary. An employee reported to police that an unknown man entered the store and walked behind the counter.

During the encounter, the suspect implied he had a weapon and threatened the employee before taking tobacco products from the shelves. Sheffey allegedly fled the business on foot. No injuries were reported.

On Tuesday, detectives with the Prince William County police's robbery unit were able to identify Sheffey as the suspect in the robbery. Later in the day, the Arlington police took Sheffey into custody without incident, the police said.
