Armed Attackers Ambush Man In Woodbridge: Police

A man was ambushed and assaulted by armed men Tuesday night at a residence in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A man was ambushed and assaulted by armed men Tuesday night at a residence in the 14100 block of Cherrydale Drive, according to Prince William County Police. Minor injuries were reported.

One of the three suspects is described as black, 5-8, 160 pounds, with a light complexion, long dreadlocks and a goatee. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Another is described as black and wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt with a red bandana covering his face. The other suspect is described only as a man.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police were to the aforementioned residence for a reported robbery. The victim, 38, said he went there to "sell property," but that an unknown man pointed a handgun at him before assaulting him. Another man, wielding a shotgun, struck the man and forced him to the ground. Then a third man took his wallet, keys and cell phone.

The man then was forced inside a bathroom, whereupon the suspects fled. A K-9 unit was summoned to aid in the search but came up empty. Minor injuries were reported. Anyone with information is urged to call Prince William County Police at 703-792-6500.
