A gun-wielding juvenile male robbed a 7-Eleven Monday after botching a previous robbery attempt at another 7-Eleven in Woodbridge: Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A gun-wielding juvenile male robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store at 15052 Cardinal Drive early Monday after botching a previous attempt at another 7-Eleven at 1701 Featherstone Road, according to Prince William County Police. The boy, 17, was charged with one count of robbery, 1 count of attempted robbery and two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony.

Shortly after 1 a.m., police went to the Featherstone Road 7-11. An employee said an unknown male entered the store, picked out some items and then approached the counter waving a gun and demanding money. But when a customer entered the store, the male got spooked and fled empty handed.

But after that, around 1:50 a.m., police went to the Cardinal Drive 7-Eleven for a reported robbery. This time, the male — who matched the description of the early robbery attempt — flashed a gun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Neighboring police districts were put on alert.
